SCHOOL HISTORY

Lake Placid Martial arts was originally founded as a traditional Okinawan Karate school in the 1980”s. Sensei Peter Peck founded the original school and taught traditional Karate to adults and children for almost 30 years. Hundreds of students benefitted from the excellent instruction and student centered approach for all of those years. Sensei Peck became interested in “I love Kickboxing” and opened a franchise in Clifton Park three years ago. It became difficult for him to operate a dojo in Lake Placid and a business in Clifton Park at the same time, so it became apparent that the Lake Placid dojo would be terminated. Sensei Robert Schiller decided to continue the martial arts business in Lake Placid and began his own school at the Fitness Revolution Gym, 1991 Saranac Avenue, Lake Placid, New York 12946. This is now called Placid Martial Arts.
